For example, in most states when making a purchase at a federally licensed firearm dealer (FFL), a buyer must, pass an electronic background check, disclose the planned use of the firearm, and complete the ATF Form 4473 as part of the transaction.
Related to this, two sections of the federal law are as follows:
18 U.S.C. § 922(a)(6) prohibits any person in connection with the acquisition or attempted acquisition of any firearm or ammunition from a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector, knowingly to make any false or fictitious oral or written statement or to furnish or exhibit any false, fictitious, or misrepresented identification, intended or likely to deceive such importer, manufacturer, dealer, or collector with respect to any fact material to the lawfulness of the sale or other disposition of such firearm or ammunition.
18 U.S.C. § 924(a)(1)(A) imposes criminal penalties, such as fines and imprisonment, upon any person who knowingly makes any false statement or representation with respect to the information required by [federal firearms law] to be kept in the records of a person licensed under [federal firearms law] or in applying for any license or exemption or relief from disability under the provisions of [federal firearms law]. These false statements or representations are punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and up to 10 years in prison.
|This is CBS Producer and aspiring felon!!!|
But wait a fukkin' second! During the purchase of this weapon, according to the seller, this producer told the dealer that she was buying the gun for her own use and that she would receive personal training from an NRA instructor. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure that would be KNOWINGLY MAKING A FALSE OR FICTITIOUS ORAL STATEMENT INTENDED TO DECEIVE THE DEALER.
If you watch the segment (Click here to see VIDEO), you will notice that her lies were edited out of the story. But when the dealer saw the CBS segment, he immediately called ATF to let them know that the "buyer" provided false information and committed what is termed a "straw purchase." A straw purchase is buying a firearm for another person and with no intention of owning the firearm yourself. And the ATF Form 4473 makes the law and the punishment very clear in bold print just before you sign. This is an excerpt from that form:
The ATF had better investigate this federal crime and punish that liberal media puppet with the very gun laws that they are trying to expose!! How sweet would it be to see this dumbass sent to prison?
This is just another example of the media having no interest in actually learning the laws because they would rather play on the emotions of a misled viewer base. Come on feds... cuff her and stuff her. And drop that quarter million dollar fine on CBS. Maybe Hillary will pay it for them.
